From its roots as a producer of screeners for the grain and milling companies in Chicago, we have grown into a worldwide producer of machinery for a wide variety of uses, including food and drug processing.
Details: SMICO can trace its roots back to the turn of the 20th century through the various founding companies we are associated with. However, our real history begins in 1937 in Chicago with productive equipment. Productive equipment manufactured screeners for the grain and milling companies that were prevalent in that area. After WWII the company was moved to Oklahoma City to our current location and the name was changed to Smico Manufacturing. The acronym Smico stands for Southwest Milling and Industrial Supply Company. Over the last 70 years we have supplied screening solutions for almost any application imaginable from milling, aggregates, food and drug prodution, liquid/solid separation, recycling to classifying the blanks used to make the coins in your pockets for the US Mint. All of these applications fit in with our Corporate objective which is: to provide every type of screening motion conceivable, so that process selections are based on the material objective, rather than based on availability of only a limited series of machinery
